Puppy Preschool
What is Puppy Preschool and why do we need it?
Having taken the time to choose a caring and professional vet with Balmain Veterinary Hospital, choosing your dog trainer should be done with the same discernment. Balmain Vets is proudly associated with Lets Go Fido! and together we are here to help!
The crucial learning and socialisation period for dogs is between 8 and 16 weeks of age. It is during this time that Puppy Preschool can provide the tools to start your puppy off on the right track and add to your enjoyment as a pet owner. There’s no time like the present to start some basic training, socialisation and desensitisation work with your new four-legged friend.
Our training facility provides you and your puppy with a safe and fun environment in which to learn. The puppy program aims to provide:
- General health care advice – diet, exercise, grooming
- Training and obedience – basic commands
- Socialisation/interaction – with people and other dogs
- Toilet training advice – no more ‘oops’!
- Familiarisation with the hospital – making visits less stressful
- Settling and calming techniques
- Troubleshooting – addressing any issues such as mouthing/biting
- Tricks and games
Together our aim is to help guide you in bringing up your puppy to be a confident, fun loving and well socialised dog.
When are they held?
Classes are one hour long and are held on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings at Windeyer Hall in Hunters Hill.
How do I enrol?
The only pre-requisite for Puppy Preschool is that your puppy must have had their first vaccination before enrolling. We do need to see proof of this, so please make sure you bring your puppy’s vaccination certificate along to the first class. To find out about available spots, pricing or to make a booking please fill out the ‘“Puppy Preschool Contact Form”’ above or alternatively contact our Puppy Preschool coordinator Lou Newman on 0410 649 898..
